Congratulations are in order for Blake Koch! Last Saturday, Kaulig Racing driver Blake Koch earned his first top-10 finish of the 2017 NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) season on Saturday after finishing ninth at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS).
Historically, Koch has found success at Bristol Motor Speedway. Just last August, Blake tied his previous career-best finish of eighth at BMS. Despite rain around Lap 150, the team pursued ahead, finishing fifth in at the end ofStage 2 on Lap 170. This fifth-place stage finish earned him six stage points to go toward his race total.
Before the race, Koch noted that he was eager to take on BMS. “Short tracks are what I like most and what I feel most comfortable on, so I’m excited for Bristol,” Koch told the Bristol Herald Courier prior to the race on Saturday afternoon.
Prior to finishing ninth at Bristol Motor Speedway, Koch ranked 10th in XFINITY Series points. His top-10 finish at BMS allowed him to advance to the seventh position in the NXS championship standings.
